Cornell Health's doctors and other medical providers – including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and technicians – provide a wide range of services to support the health and well-being students on Cornell's Ithaca campus.
Primary care medical services
At Cornell Health, we use a "primary care" model for medical care that addresses the whole-person – physical, emotional, and social well-being. Our primary care medical services include a wide range of prevention and treatment for common health concerns, including preventive care visits and "physicals," care for illnesses, injuries, and non-urgent health conditions, and prescription medication management.
Each Cornell student is assigned a Primary Care Provider (PCP) – credentialed medical clinician (physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistants) – who will help coordinate your health care throughout your time at Cornell. Whenever you need an appointment with a medical clinician, we recommend scheduling with your PCP (or a member of their team) whenever possible to facilitate continuity of care.
