  • Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Social Behavior and Community Health as a David Axelrod Fellow from the University at Albany School of Public Health
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Development from the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University
  • Additionally, Laura worked as Cornell's first Public Health Fellow from 2011 – 2012 

Professional interests:

Laura is a public health practitioner, scholar, and leader who is passionate about protecting and improving the health and well-being for diverse and underserved populations through evidence-based and innovative programs, policies, and initiatives. Laura enjoys applying a public health lens to challenging problems, building coalitions, and developing, implementing, and evaluating programs, policies, and strategies associated with campus health initiatives. As a public health generalist, Laura has experience applying a public health approach to many topics including the promotion of mental health and well-being and anti-racism resources, as well as the prevention of sexual violence, suicide, alcohol and other drug misuse, bias, climate anxiety, and hazing. Additionally, Laura has experience conducting mixed methods epidemiological research to monitor behavioral health trends in the student population and uses these data to inform decisions related to campus health initiatives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Laura worked closely with campus colleagues to inform behavioral modification guidelines and develop communication strategies and educational trainings to reduce the campus spread of COVID-19.

Personal interests:

Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exploring the great outdoors, traveling to new and familiar places, playing tennis, and creative outlets such as photography, cooking, baking, playing the saxophone and painting.
