Urgent Care Counselor
Pronouns: she/her
Certifications/Degrees/Licensure:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), MPH
Education:
- Washington University in St. Louis, MSW/MPH
- Cornell University, BA, Sociology
Professional interests:
Beth was drawn to clinical social work because it integrates elements that she finds meaningful: centering individuals’ stories, collaboration, and recognizing how individuals and communities are deeply impacted by the systems around us. She is particularly excited to support college students as they navigate a transitional and transformative period in their lives, along with the challenges that accompany it. Beth believes that growth is a lifelong, imperfect process and values clients as experts in their own experiences. She strives towards a clinical approach that is strengths-based, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and flexible, focusing on addressing the unique needs of each student. Beth has experience working with individuals across the lifespan, including young adults affected by gun violence, palliative and end-of-life care, and most recently worked on an inpatient adult psychiatric unit that addressed both acute mental health and co-occurring substance use needs.
Personal interests:
Outside of work, Beth enjoys hiking with good company, doing crossfit-style workouts, collaging, and spending time in direct sunlight when available. She has dreams of completing a long-distance triathlon someday.
